NOMINATION PROCESS

Nomination for Election as a Director 

Nominations for election as a Director MUST be received by 5pm AEDT Monday, 8th November 2021. 

To nominate you MUST be a current member of Blockchain Australia.

Nominees are only eligible for election as a representative of their membership category: 

  1. Digital Currency Member
  2. Start-Up Scale-Up Member
  3. Corporate & Advisory Member
  4. Professional Member
  5. Professional Member (Student)
  6. Fellows.

Nominating candidates are required to provide the details of a seconder.

  • The seconder must be a current Blockchain Australia member
  • The seconder does not need to be in the same membership category as the nominee
  • The seconder cannot be part of the same organisation as the nominating candidate.
  • Seconders are not permitted to second more than three (3) nominees in total or more than (2) in any category.

Some individuals may be eligible for election in multiple classes.

  • Should someone wish to  nominate in multiple classes, a separate nomination form is required for each nomination in each  class. 

Nominating candidates must submit a photograph and brief biography of no more than 300 words, which needs to be provided with the nomination submission.

Six (6) elected Board positions are vacant due to retirement or end of Board term.

BOARD POSITIONS

The open Board positions are as follows:

 

Digital Currency Members – One position, two (2) year term 

• A legally incorporated entity under the laws of Australia;
• operate (or plan to operate) a digital currency exchange eligible for registration as such by AUSTRAC;
• be certified (or planning to be certified within 6 months) under BA’s Digital Currency Industry Code of Conduct.
OR
• be a legally incorporated entity under the laws of Australia;
• operate (or plan to operate) a business primarily concerned with trading or investing in digital currencies or supplying services ancillary to digital currencies

 

Start-Up and Scale-Up Members – One position, two (2) year term

• A legally incorporated entity under the laws of Australia;
• operate (or plan to operate) a business that exists primarily to research, develop, deploy or commercialise a blockchain technology platform(s) or solutions(s).

 

Corporate and Advisory Members – One position, two (2) year term

•  A legally incorporated entity under the laws of Australia;
• Operate (or plan to operate) a business that has deployed or is planning to deploy a blockchain technology solution within its operations or provides services ancillary to the utilisation or commercialisation or blockchain technology

 

Professional Members – One position, two (2) year term

• A natural person over the age of 18 residing in Australia or with some other substantial tie to Australia;
• support the objectives of the Company.

 

Professional Members (Student) – One position, one (1) year term

• A natural person over the age of 18 residing in Australia or with some other substantial tie to Australia;
• support the objectives of the Company; and
• be currently enrolled as a student at a secondary or tertiary institution

 

Fellows – One position, two (2) year term 

A member or person who holds Fellowship of the Company in accordance with this Constitution and any requirements set by special resolution of the Board.
