University grades on a blockchain

Update:  As luck would have it my old iLab mentor David Israel is the man who was in charge of the Melbourne University project.  He spoke before me at the Melbourne blockchain summit and happens to be up in Brisbane next month.

He has agreed to deliver his presentation in Brisbane too!

To accomodate David, I’ve had to reschedule the event again. Apologies for this, but this means we get to hear about the project from the “horses” mouth!

Recently the AFR published at an claiming an Australian Uni will publish students’ grades via a blockchain. The idea is not new, and was actually floated by a member of this group. On the night, I’ll demo an example of a smart contract and explain what’s in it for the university, student and potential employer.
